Robert L. Morrissey creates R.L. Morrissey & Associates, based in Cleveland, OH. R.L. Morrissey & Associates operates as a manufacturer's representative for standard fastener companies.

1967
1967

R.L. Morrissey establishes a representation agreement with Anderton International of Bingley West Yorkshire, England. Anderton is a manufacturer of Retaining Rings and Belleville Disc Springs.

1976
1976

American Ring & Tool Company is created. The company becomes the United States Master Stockist for the Anderton International line of Retaining Rings & Belleville Disc Springs. American Ring & Tool establishes their warehouse and offices in Highland Heights, Ohio.

1979
1979

American Ring & Tool signs "Master Stockist Agreement" with Spirolox Retaining Ring, a Division of TRW INC. manufacturers of the"Spirolox" spiral-wound retaining ring.

1983
1983

Jack Morrissey, Robert Morrissey Jr. and James Morrissey take ownership of R.L. Morrissey & Associates, Inc., parent company of American Ring & Tool Co.

1989
1989

American Ring Manufacturing is founded by the Morrissey's and DH&S; Inc. with offices and production located in Romulus, Michigan.

1990
1990

American Ring acquires assets from Precision Ring Corp. consisting of ring coiling machines, heat-treat furnaces, wire drawing lines and residual tooling.

1995
1995

Wrought Washer Mfg., Inc. establishes regional warehouse at American Ring & Tool.

1998
1998

American Ring & Tool acquires Western Service & Supply of Santa Ana, California, a full line Retaining Ring distributor in the western United States servicing the aerospace
and commercial markets.

2004
2004

American Ring acquires Meyer Retaining Ring of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. American Ring & Tool adds Manufacturing and Distribution software linking all operations.

2010
2010

American Ring Manufacturing moves manufacturing operation from Romulus, MI to 45,000 square foot facility in Livonia, MI.

2014
2014

New management team takes over day-to-day operation.

2017
2017

American Ring acquires Ringmasters LLC, (formerly Eaton Retaining Ring), a manufacturer of snap rings and circlips, and Alternative Surface Grinding, a double disc grinding and hyprolapping service provider for micro finishes and tight toleranced products/applications.

2018
2018

American Ring acquires the assets of S&M Retaining Ring, a manufacturer of tapered section inch, metric, and milspec retaining rings.
