The Quality Engineer is responsible to maintain and strengthen our ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 quality management systems by conducting audits, performing root cause analyses, and managing all continuous improvement activities. This position requires overseeing supplier non-conformances, customer quality concerns, and working with the team to improve the process and product quality. The desired candidate will have 3+ years of Quality Engineering and IATF quality system experience.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve the Quality Management System to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
- Lead APQP for new product launches, ensuring all documentation is thoroughly completed and submitted on schedule
- Collaborate with suppliers and customers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions
- Facilitate design of procedures to assure manufacturing of quality parts and compliance with customer requirements
- Drive Quality Accountability to the floor level through 8-D process and Quality System Development
- Ensure resolution of quality problems using a system that includes Product Line Managers, Operators, Supervisors etc. and that these quality problems are being properly addressed with proper root cause analysis identified
- Support new product development by ensuring customer quality standards are met
Qualifications
- 3+ years of Quality Engineering experience within a Tier 1 or Tier 2 automotive manufacturing environment
- ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 experience
- A strong understanding of the standards and supplier quality processes
- IATF Quality system experience preferred
- Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC
- Excellent communication skills for customer and supplier interactions
- Superb problem-solving skills to address quality issues and implement solutions
